To build up competencies of a good manager, an Internship Program is essential, too. A distinctive feature of the training of students pursuing the Master`s degree majoring in Management, with a concentration in Human Resource Management, is that most of them have practical experience.

In this regard, an internship that is an integral part of the educational process is aimed at:

  • Consolidating the knowledge and skills obtained in the course of theoretical training in the Master`s degree program,
  • Mastering the methods and technologies of selection and recruitment of personnel;
  • Honing skills of qualitative and quantitative assessment of the effectiveness of the personnel, which ensures the selection of the most promising management personnel;
  • Teaching methods and technologies for certification and motivation of personnel; psychological assessment tools to assess professional, business and personal qualities of employees; methods of analysis and rationalization of personnel; methods of strategic analysis and personnel planning, its career growth.        

The Internship in Management takes place in a second term and generally lasts for two weeks. In this period, students study and analyze an HR management system of a particular company, as well as collect the necessary materials, documents and statistical data allowing one to perform the research project, or Master's thesis, in conformity with the chosen topic.

Students staying in Minsk receive the opportunity to go on a tour across different Belarusian companies to get acquainted with their day-to-day activities and carry out a comparative study of the HRM systems. They meet experienced managers, can ask questions and communicate with each other. Our Master`s students managed to visit Beijing Hotel, Etagi Real Estate Company and Zhdanovichi Agricultural Company.

Moreover, the students met with Ludmila Rozhkova, Head of Personnel Department of the University, who gave them a clear picture of the School`s personnel structure and the regulatory documents that determine current personnel policy of SB BSU. The Master`s students learnt how the School arranges finding, recruiting, training, and developing employees, as well as maintaining employee relations and ensuring that they have continuous development. They were able to have a look at employment record books and receive some professional as well as personal advice from Head of Personnel Department.
